The Donkey Trick

A couple was celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. Their domestic tranquility had long been the talk of the town, and on this special occasion, a local newspaper reporter paid them a visit. He inquired as to the secret of their long and happy marriage.  “Well,” explained the husband, “it all goes back to our honeymoon. We visited the Grand Canyon and took a trip down to the bottom of the canyon by pack mule.” “We hadn’t gone too far when my wife’s mule stumbled. My wife quietly said, ‘That’s once.’  We proceeded a little further when the mule stumbled again. Once more my wife quietly spoke : ‘That’s twice.’ We hadn’t gone a half-mile when the mule stumbled third time. My wife promptly removed a revolver from her purse, hopped down off the beast, and shot the mule dead.” I started to protest over her treatment of the mule when she looked at me and quietly said, “That’s once.”

Third Child…!!!

The bride said she wanted three children, while the young husband said two would be enough for him. They discussed this discrepancy for a few minutes until the husband thought he’d put an end to things by saying boldly, “After our second child, I’ll just have a vasectomy.” Without a moments hesitation, the bride retorted, “Well, I hope you’ll love the third one just as if it’s your own.”

“Marriage?”

The child was a typical four-year-old girl -- cute, inquisitive, bright as a new penny. When she expressed difficulty in grasping the concept of marriage, her father decided to pull out his wedding photo album, thinking visual images would help. One page after another, he pointed out the bride arriving at the church, the entrance, the wedding ceremony, the recessional, the reception, etc. "Now do you understand?" he asked. "I think so," she said, "is that when mommy came to work for us?"

Where is the HEART?

Aging Mildred was a 93-year-old woman who was particularly despondent over the recent death of her husband, Earl. She decided that she would just kill herself and join him in death. Thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out Earl's old Army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart, since it was so badly broken in the first place. Not wanting to miss the vital organ and become a vegetable and burden to someone, she called her doctor's office to inquire as to just exactly where the heart would be on a woman. The doctor said, "Your heart would be just below your left breast." Later that night, Mildred was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her knee.

NOTE

I know, note generally is written at the end....but I am doubtful, everybody can see that! LOL...Blog is interesting no doubt, but according to my previous experiences, few of my friends ( little lazy!Image) may not read complete blog too so I am sure, this note may get neglected too! LOL. So here I want to say, to all my visitors that below prediction is not 100% suitable for my temperament. There are few certain points where I do differ from the prediction...but because of lack of time, I did not comment in my blog where I differ! But over all it is quite close to my nature! I DID IT FOR FUN & BECAUSE I FELT IT INTERESTING...! It doesn't matter for me more than that! LOL

This is from STEPHANIE'S BLOG and she got it from her friend's blog. I found this an interesting thing too! It comes out quite true ( though not 100%) ...

MATCHING WITH MY TEMPERAMENT ALMOST....

SO, WANNA TRY FOR YOU?

Red = 1

The Individualist/Leader Original, ambitious, dynamic, innovative, self-confident

Yellow = 3

The Communicator/Artist Imaginative, inspirational, self-expressive, enthusiastic, creative

Green = 4

The Dedicated Worker/Problem-solver Honest, responsible, conscientious, determined, persevering

Turquoise = 5

The Freedom-Seeking Go-Getter Energetic, adaptable, inquisitive, independent, non-conformist

Marigold = 9

The Aristocratic Humanitarian/Politician Discriminating, enlightened, high-minded, idealistic, generous

Personality Number 9  = The Universal Humanitarian, states-person. Your desire to be respected and admired creates the impetus within you to make a name for yourself. In fact, all 9's love the limelight and have the people-pleasing attributes and the principled convictions to make good community leaders or national politicians. However, your independent, impulsive nature may sometimes put you in compromising positions -- especially since you dislike being told what to do by anyone! Innately sensitive and compassionate, most 9's become involved in projects that help the earth or the masses in some fashion or another. Negatively, you can be egotistical, arrogant, condescending, and overly materialistic.

Destiny Number 5  =   You and Your Surroundings: You dislike sameness and many 5-destiny individuals change their environment frequently -- either by moving to a new country, town, or home -- or throwing out old stuff and getting all new stuff. Wherever you live, you need a place for your projects, which are usually many and varied. You are a speed demon and can get more places in less time than almost anyone. You can be the super soccer mom/dad type or an on-the-go socialite or executive. But regardless of what you do, you are usually constantly on the move! Your 5-destiny should also make you stylish and someone who always keeps abreast of "the latest" in virtually everything!

Favorite Activities :  Your tastes are multiple and varied. You can enjoy a day browsing through museums or sailing on the high seas. Being on the go, in the know and up with the times is your modus operandi. You may be found coaching a team or heading up a worthy cause or promoting a crusade, attending the latest fashion show or wind-surfing. Or, you may be refurbishing your home or traveling the world and, when you're through with all that, you will STILL have energy to burn! Action is your middle name and that's what you are usually doing -- some kind of ACTION! You also enjoy perusing the latest in magazines, newspapers and T.V. or radio.

Friends and Followers :  Many and varied. You like be where the action is and can adapt to all different types of personalities, environments and surroundings. Yours is truly a chameleon nature.

Best Feature :  More energy than God and enough enthusiasm to dramatically alter the opinions of anyone about anything!

Worst Features :  Never finishing anything you start and/or over-indulgence in all life's temptations. You also have a tendency to change directions in mid-stream instead of going with the flow and seeing what's at the end of each new trail.

Good Careers :  A detective, traveling salesman, stockbroker, pilot, promoter, politician, entertainer, travel agent.

Attitude Number 3 =  You may have been very shy as a small child but once you discovered the clever imagination you possess and how scintillating you can be with words, communication, in one way or another, becomes a MUST! You see, the "3" represents creative communication and therefore, drawing, painting, playing a musical instrument, singing, acting, dancing are all natural proclivities for those with a 3-attitude.

Your sweet charm and exuberant spirit make you popular with everyone! All things that glitter, sparkle, shine, fly, dance, gallop, hop, or run can arouse endless intrigue and curiosity in you. Your biggest challenge in life may be channeling your wonderful imagination in one direction. And, although many of you are inclined to scatter your energies, when you do set a goal you can be extraordinarily disciplined and committed toward its attainment!

Character Number 4 Positive Traits :  Being organized, dutiful and hard-working.

Possible Adverse Trait :  Being argumentative. Your public personality is exceptionally straightforward and you can always be counted on to deliver an honest opinion. You also have strong moral convictions and ethical principles and no one could have a more loyal friend than you. Being disciplined and responsible comes naturally to you and when you commit yourself you usually end up giving more time and talent that was requested. Many 4's are fact collectors and thoroughly enjoy the lively art of debate.

Soul Urge Number 1  =  Your soul's urge desires to create and initiate. With this number as your guiding light, you are capable of great accomplishments. Single-minded focus and the determination to excel above others once you have set a goal are your most commendable soulful motivators. You are most capable of being an instigator and leader of worthy causes.

Hidden Agenda Number 3 =  Your inner desires may be to travel the world; sail the high seas, become a sky diver, the entertainer of the year, write the Great American Novel, or compose and sing the next Top Ten hit song. Whatever your aspirations, they will likely include some type of entertainment or free spirit adventure. This is the symbol of the "Peter Pan" syndrome and lurking somewhere inside you is the little child who never wants to grow up.

The Six Numbers Derived from Your Birth Date and Name And Their Significance There are three different numbers derived from your birth date - the Destiny, the Personality, and the Attitude. There are also three numbers that are derived from you name - the Character, the Soul Urge, and the Hidden Agenda. The following explanations for these numbers are presented to clarify the importance of each of them as they relate to your personality and numerology chart. The Character, Soul Urge and Hidden Agenda relate to your public/social personality.

The Personality and Attitude numbers are associated with your intimate self -- the you that is best known by family, close friends and close career associates. The Destiny number dominates all the other numbers in your star because it is associated with what you came to offer to and receive from this life. The other numbers express who you are from a personality and attitude standpoint. If you would like the formulas for calculating the Destiny, Personality, Attitude, Character, Soul Urge and Hidden Agenda numbers, they can be found in Sally's book Motivational Numerology, And How Numbers Affect Your Life.

The Three Numbers Derived from the Birth Date :

1. The Destiny number: This number is found by adding all the numbers in your date of birth together and reducing them to a single digit. As the word Destiny implies, it represents what you came into this life to accomplish, what careers are best suited to you, how you like your surroundings, who you gravitate toward and retain as friends and mates, and what activities or social atmosphere you most desire. It is the "what" you came to achieve and get out of this life.

 2. The Personality number: This number is derived from the day of the month you were born. This number is representative of your "inside" personality. It influences the personality you exhibit to those who are closest to you - your family members and intimate friends. It is the "who" you are when you are just being you.

3. The Attitude number: This number is found by adding your month of birth to your day of birth and reducing it to a single digit. Your Attitude number's definition offers insight into your feelings and sensitivities, actions and reactions to your parents, and other environmental stimuli in your childhood, teen, and early adult years. The influence of this attitude usually begins to diminish between the ages of 30 to 35 as you evolve into adulthood. At that time, the Destiny, Personality, and Character numbers begin to have much greater power and influence over your "inside" and "outside" personas. The Three Numbers Derived from Your Name.

[Note: The numbers associated with your Character, Soul Urge and Hidden Agenda are assigned from an alphabet grid which can be found in Ms. Faubion's book, Motivational Numerology.]

4. The Character number :  This number is found by adding together, and reducing to a single digit, the numbers associated with the letters in your name from birth. It represents your most public self, i.e.; the persona you exhibit at social gatherings, in the workplace, or at school. It also influences how you express your innate talents and capabilities, as well as the personality qualities you exhibit when you feel uncomfortable with your surroundings. It is the "who" you present when you are outside your most comfortable surroundings.

5. The Soul Urge number :  This number is found by adding together, and reducing to a single digit, the numbers associated with the vowels in your name from birth. The Soul Urge represents the "burning desire" (or most soulful desire) behind your public persona. Its number definition offers insight as to "why" you express yourself as you do in public.

6. The Hidden Agenda number :  This number is found by adding together, and reducing to a single digit, the numbers associated with the consonants in your name from birth. Its vibration is not as powerful as the Character and Soul Urge number vibrations. It, therefore, represents your secret desires and aspirations. The Hidden Agenda is the "what" you would hope to gain by exhibiting the best qualities of the Character and Soul Urge numbers. Sometimes discovering the influence of your Hidden Agenda can be more of a surprise to you than to anyone else.

ART OF SUNDAY....

An Indian Artist : M.F. Husain

Born: September 17, 1915 in Pandharpur (MP).

The Early Years Maqbool Fida Husain's mother,  Zunaib, died in his infancy and his father, Fida, remarried and moved to Indore, where Husain went to school. He moved to Mumbai at age 20 when he was admitted to the J. J. School of Arts. He married in 1941. During his early days in Mumbai he earned money painting cinema hoarding--- one of the often-told stories about his early days. In Husain's own words:

We were paid barely four or six annas per square foot. That is, for a 6x10 feet canvas, we earned a few rupees. And apart from the New Theatre distributor, the others did not pay us at all. As soon as I earned a little bit I used to take off for Surat, Baroda and Ahmedabad to paint landscapes.

Given this bad pay, Husain tried other jobs as well. One of the best paying was a toy factory, where he designed and built fretwork toys.

In the 1947 annual exhibition of the Bombay Art Society, his painting Sunhera Sansaar was shown. This was his first exhibition. After the Partition later that year, Husain decided to stay in India. Soon the Progressive Artists' Group was formed. Through it, Husain was exposed to, and strongly influenced by, the work of Emil Nolde and Oskar Kokoschka. From 1948 to 1950 a series of exhibitions all over India brought Husain's work to the notice of the public.

The 1950s and '60s

In 1951 Husain travelled to China. In the following year he had his first solo exhibition in Zurich, and over the next few years his work was widely seen in Europe and the USA.

In 1966 Husain was awarded the Padmashree by the Government of India. In the following year he made his first film, Through the Eyes of a Painter. It was shown at the Berlin Festival and won a Golden Bear.

The 1970s

Some of his best known works are called the Sufi paintings, and were first exhibited at the Pundole Gallery in 1978.

The 1980s

During these years M.F. Husain slowly grew into a public figure, often embroiled in controversies. His Shwetambari exhibition at the Jehangir Art Gallery consisted of two halls shrouded in white cloth, whorls of which also shared the floor with torn newspapers. Later, he gave a public performance at the Tata Center in Calcutta. For several days a crowd watched as he painted pictures of six goddesses. On the last day of the exhibition he destroyed his paintings by overpainting with white.

Husain had become a photogenic icon, and the newspapers loved him. The stuffy Calcutta Club was pilloried when it refused admission to a barefoot Husain on the grounds that he violated their dress code. (M.F. Hussain has this peculiar habit of walking bare feet…! )  He was nominated to the upper house of the Indian Parliament, the Rajya Sabha in 1987; and during his six year term he produced the Sansad Portfolio.

The 1990s

In the early '90s, several collections of his paintings were made accessible to the public in exhibitions of permanent galleries. The most interesting of these is the Husain-Doshi Gufa in Ahmadabad, a collaboration between the painter and an architect in the construction of a gallery.

During this period, M.F. Husain became a fan of a beautiful Hindi film actress called Madhuri Dixit, and he made many portraits of her as well as made a movie for her…! People used to say him (jokingly)  Madhuri Fida Hussain ( instead of Maqbool Fida Husain…! LOL) Here Fida is Hindi word =  having a huge crush…!!  Now a days, Madhuri is staying at Denver & married to an Indian American Heart specialist ! She is now a mother of two cute boys !! LOL  I love this actress very much because she is the best example of a beauty with brain!!! Image
