· My head does not belong in the refrigerator.

· I will no longer be beholden to the sound of the can opener.

· Come to understand that cats are from Venus; dogs are from Mars.

· Get a bite in on that freak who gives me that shot every year.

· Grow opposable thumb; break into pantry; decide for MYSELF how much food is *too* much.

· Cats: Use new living room sofa as scratching post.

Entry for December 30, 2006

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HUBBY DEAR!!! LOL

Today on 30th Dec, 2006 is my hubby dear’s birthday. Luckily I have Manju at home; she suddenly came in the morning today from Pune when hubby was leaving for office! After that I got a call from my younger bro that he has come in India for a week and going to come down to our place in the evening… with his wife and a daughter who is a year younger than my son. Though we don’t celebrate our birthdays formally, but this time I am planning to arrange little surprise birthday fun for hubby… Now Manju & me are going for little shopping and will have our lunch out. In the evening my son & Manju will decorate the home & I will prepare food for all… So I have very less time here…. So on the occasion of my hubby’s birthday today I want you all also to have little fun …

JOKES

A blonde is walking down the street and a car pulled up next to her. The man in the car says to her, what do you have in the bag?

The blonde replies: I have chickens!

The man thinks for a moment and says, if I can guess how many chickens you have in the bag, can I have one?

The blonde thinks that it sounds fair and replies, Okay, but I'll make the bet even better! If you can guess how many chickens, I have in the bag I will give you BOTH of them!"

HEY GUYS, YOU KNOW VERY WELL I AM NOT AT ALL BLONDE… OK THEN YOU WANT TO READ A LITTLE MATCHING JOKE TO ME? SEE THIS….

Hubby - You always carry my photo in your handbag to the office. Why?

Wife - When there is a problem, no matter how impossible, I look at your picture and the problem disappears.

Hubby - You see, how miraculous and powerful I am for you?

Wife - Yes, I see your picture and say to myself, "What other problem can there be greater than this one?"

OH LOLOLOL…. I WAS KIDDING… Because you all know I don’t work so no need to carry hubby’s pic but I would like to suggest this to all married & working women here… hehehe... AND those who are not married & searching for a perfect match this is for them ---

Finding perfect men

At a local coffee bar, a young woman was expounding on her idea of the perfect mate to some of her friends.

"The man I marry must be a shining light amongst company. He must be musical. Tell jokes. Sing. And stay home at night!"

An old granny overheard and spoke up, "Honey, if that's all you want, get a TV!"

I have to run…. Otherwise few of my friends will send me to hell back again… LOLOL OK OK… what about this…?

Getting into fights

A young couple drove several miles down a country road, not saying a word.

An earlier discussion had led to an argument, and neither wanted to concede their position.

As they passed a barnyard of mules and pigs, the husband sarcastically asked, "Are they relatives of yours?"

"Yes," his wife replied. "I married into the family."

HEY, do you know the secret behind my completing 15 years of marriage??? hehehe

Have long marriages

Some people ask the secret of Anthony's long marriage.

They take time to go to a restaurant two times a week: a little candlelight dinner, soft music, and a slow walk home.

The Mrs. goes Tuesdays; He goes Fridays.

HEY GUYS, DON’T FORGET TO COUNT THE FLOWERS OF A BOUQUET…SPECIALLY WHEN YOU WILL BE PRESENTING TO YOUR GIRLFRIEND ON HER BIRTHDAY… LOL

Gift for a birthday

A fellow was very much in love with a beautiful girl. One day she told him that the next day was her birthday. He told her he would send her a bouquet of roses... one for each year of her life.

That evening he called the local florist and ordered twenty-one roses with instructions that they be delivered first thing the next morning.

As the florist was preparing the order, he decided that since the young man was such a good customer, he would put an extra dozen roses in the bouquet.

The fellow never did find out what made the young girl so angry with him.

Trick to save yourself from MADNESS OF WIFE…. :P

Wife was mad at me
Two deaf men were in a coffee shop discussing their wives.

One signs to the other, boy was my wife mad at me last night!

She went on and on and wouldn't stop!

The other Buddy says when my wife goes off on me I just don't listen.

How do you do that? Says the other.

It's easy! I turn off the light!

POOR FELLOW…..NEEDS MORE TRAINING…..

Subjects for a date
A boy is about to go on his first date, and is nervous about what to talk about. He asks his father for advice.

The father replies: "My son, there are three subjects that always work. These are food, family, and philosophy."

The boy picks up his date and they go to a soda fountain. Ice cream sodas in front of them, they stare at each other for a long time, as the boy's nervousness builds.

He remembers his father's advice, and chooses the first topic.

He asks the girl: "Do you like spinach?" She says "No," and the silence returns.

After a few more uncomfortable minutes, the boy thinks of his father's suggestion and turns to the second item on the list. He asks, "Do you have a brother?" Again, the girl says "No" and there is silence once again.

The boy then plays his last card. He thinks of his father's advice and asks the girl the following question: "If you had a brother, would he like spinach?"

I hope you will enjoy this and don’t forget to wish my hubby dear!!!! THANKS A LOT in advance! HUGS.

THIS IS FOR EMY’S POTLUCK…
( On 22nd Dec 2006!)

As you have seen my profile picture so it is called Masala Dosa…. It is basically a south Indian dish. I like South Indian food very much. ( It is spicy, hot & sour type) I hardly eat sweet things… ( I eat sweets rarely & very little & I don't eat Non-veg food !) and I don’t like oily food too. So south Indian food doesn’t have much oil & it’s hot! Ah… I like chillies…

SO HERE IS THE RECIPE OF MASALA DOSA. I make it at home quite often. Now as you know, I don’t have broadband connection yet, so I am writing this in hurry & can’t tell you the meanings or synonymous words of few Indian words below. So if you want to prepare this at home, buy these things from Indian store OR wait till I get broadband… LOL

MASALA DOSA

Add soda bicarb and salt and mix well. Keep aside in a warm place for 8-10 hours. Beat the curds well. Add to the batter, add more water if required.
The consistency of the batter should be enough to thickly coat on a spoon when dipped. Heat the iron griddle or non-stick tawa well. Pour a spoonful of batter in the centre, spread with the back of the spoon to a thin round.
Pour a tsp. of ghee or oil over it. Spread chutney spread over dosa.

'Twas The Night Before Christmas - Computer Version.

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the shop,

The computers were whirring; they never do stop.

The power was on and the temperature right,

In hopes that the input would feed back that night.

The system was ready, the program was coded,

And memory drums had been carefully loaded;

While adding a Christmassy glow to the scene,

The lights on the console, flashed red, white and green.

When out in the hall there arose such a clatter,

the programmer ran to see what was the matter.

Away to the hallway he flew like a flash,

forgetting his key in his curious dash.

He stood in the hallway and looked all about,

when the door slammed behind him, and he was locked out.

Then, in the computer room what should appear?

But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer;

And a little old man, who with scarcely a pause,

Chuckled: "My name is Santa...the last name is Claus."

The computer was startled, confused by the name,

Then it buzzed as it heard the old fellow exclaim:

"This is Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,

And Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen."

With all these odd names, it was puzzled anew;

It hummed and it clanked, and a main circuit blew.

It searched in its memory core, trying to "think";

Then the multi-line printer went out on the blink.

Unable to do its electronic job,

It said in a voice that was almost a sob:

"Your eyes - how they twinkle - your dimples so merry,

Your cheeks so like roses, your nose like a cherry,

Your smile - all these things, I've been programmed to know,

And at data-recall, I am more than so-so;

But your name and your address (computers can't lie),

Are things that I just cannot identify.

You've a jolly old face and a little round belly,

That shakes when you laugh like a bowl full of jelly;

My scanners can see you, but still I insist,

Since you're not in my program, you cannot exist!"

Old Santa just chuckled a merry "ho, ho",

And sat down to type out a quick word or so.

The keyboard clack-clattered, its sound sharp and clean,

As Santa fed this "data" into the machine:

"Kids everywhere know me; I come every year;

The presents I bring add to everyone's cheer;

But you won't get anything - that's plain to see;

Too bad your programmers forgot about me."

Then he faced the machine and said with a shrug,

"Merry Christmas to All," as he pulled out its plug,

"And to all, a good night!"

This is TODAYS MESSAGE...LOL

What can an Internet addict (like me ) say? This Internet is really a grand gift to all of us… (Only you have to know how to use it for your up gradation…& I use it for gaining knowledge & learning new things almost everyday……) If you remember, I have told you this before and even posted the matter of my e-mails under the name “By GREAT SOULS”! I mean, I always get great e-mails [with long lists of forwarded e-mail ids, through which I have to literally surf ? NA, swim ( you can visualize Pink (Don't even know swimming...) is crossing the English Channel… )& reach up to an original message…] from known & unknown peoples around the world…! Among those, some are funny, some are nice, some are philosophical, some are naughty and some are about friends & friendships…& Blah blah…

But let me clear one thing here ONCE & FOR ALL… that I DON’T believe in “Terms & Conditions” of few mails OR even 360 Page “TAGS” which come along with attachment of “You have to send this mail or Tag to further 20 peoples or whatever it is …in 2 days or in next 20 minutes… (I really wish they should know, India does have power & Internet constraint still ! ) and if you will do as per instructions, then it will bring you good luck, OR you can expect your lover to give you a surprise. Poor me, I never had/have lover, all I have is ONLY hubby! Who surprises me more often by his talks… (Long story…will tell some day! ) But for my other friends who have lovers in their life, should not get “shock” instead of “surprise” by his/her act of introducing new lover to them, which will turn them as an “EX”…! OK… OK.. So today on the occasion of my new friend Maija’s birthday…here is a mail from “GREAT SOUL” --- but first “WISHING YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAIJA…!!!”

FRIEND MEANS...

Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot...

...who calls you back when you hang up on him...

...who will stay awake just to watch you sleep...

...wait for the guy who kisses your forehead...

...who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats...

...who holds your hand in front of his friends...

...wait for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you...

...wait for the one who turns to his friends and says, "...that's her or that's him"...

If you open this, you have to repost it so that you'll be showered with only love for the rest of your life. This midnight, true love will knock on your heart and something good will happen to you at approximately 1:42 pm tomorrow. It could happen anywhere. So get ready for the biggest shock of your life. Please don't break this chain. Let love shower unto us for all the time. Send this e-mail to as many people as you can and see what great power and magic love can bring. .

THE BEST MIRROR IN THE LIFE OF A PERSON IS HIS/HER TRUE FRIEND...

NOTE : AS I TOLD YOU BEFORE, I DON'T BELIEVE IN WHAT IT IS SAID TO DO & I AM NOT PROMOTING THIS AT ALL.... But I wish you all, who needed this to happen in their life, should get this WITHOUT reposting this... & I have re-posted it to show what I don't believe in... GOD BLESS YOU ALL & GET ALL THE HAPPINESS IN YOUR LIFE, WHICH YOU DESERVE...!!!

Saw this test at Emy's page, which she has taken from her friend's page... If you want to have this...try it...& have fun... :) EMY has scored great as "Universal Genius" !!! See mine is here ---

ART SUNDAY

Hello Buddies, today I thought enough of showing only a small pebble from Indian shore. I must show, who has inspired that pebble (Pink, of course! ) to take paintbrush in hands. YES, the precious Pearl from India, whom I have already introduced you before. But since my list (of friends’) has many new faces so here is little introduction of the ARTIST called M.F. Hussain.

A self-taught artist, Muqbool Fida Hussain was born in 1915 in Maharashtra. At an early age he learnt the art of calligraphy and practiced the Kulfic khat with its geometric forms. He also learnt to write poetry while staying with an uncle in a madrasa in Baroda, an art that has stayed with him through his life. His early education was perfunctory but Hussain's love of drawing was evident even at this stage. Whenever he got a chance he would strap his painting gear to his bicycle and drive out to the surrounding countryside of Indore to paint the landscape. In 1937 he reached Mumbai determined to become an artist, with hardly any money and lived m a cheap room in a by lane inhabited by pimps and prostitutes. Initially Hussain apprenticed himself to a painter of cinema hoardings, which he would paint with great dexterity perched on scaffolding sometimes in the middle of traffic.

These are paintings by him called "BAGHDAD SERIES"

Hussain was noticed for the first time in 1947 when he won an award at the annual exhibition of the Bombay Art Society. Subsequently he was invited by Souza to join the Progressive Artist's Group. A great deal of experimentation in the early years led to some remarkable works Re Between The Spider And The Lamp, Zameen and Man. By 1955 he was one of the leading artists in India and had been awarded the Padma Shri. He was a special invitee along with Pablo Picasso at the Sao Paulo Biennial in 1971. Along with several solo exhibitions he had major retrospectives in Mumbai in 1969, in Calcutta in 1973 and in Delhi in 1978. He has participated in many international shows which include Contemporary Indian Art, Royal Academy of Arts, London 1982; Six Indian Painters, Tate Gallery, London 1985; Modem Indian Painting, Hirschhom Museum, Washington 1986 and Contemporary Indian Art, Grey Art Gallery, New York 1986.

In 1967 he won the Golden Bear at the International Film Festival at Berlin for his documentary \u201c Through the Eyes of a Painter \u201d and has made several short films since then. Hussain was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1973, the Padma Vibhushan in 1989 and was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 1986. One of the most charismatic artists in India today, he is known for his emphatic understanding of the human situation and his speedy evocation of it in paint. The early evolution of his painterly language was overtaken by adventurous forays into installations and performance art. His experimentations with new forms of art are both unexpected and pioneering. Hussain has studios in several cities in India but lives mainly in Mumbai.

LATEST UPDATE : M.F.Hussain is now living at Dubai, UAE. It\u2019s a kind of self-exile, because few radicals (basically political) have filed cases against his nude-paintings of Hindu Goddesses. His (all religion) friends from ART fraternity are asking people to come out in his support & stop these political games against him because he is a Muslim painter. His friends have some points like \u20131. Those paintings are almost 30 years old & cases are filed against him recently. 2. He never had given names to his nude-paintings, people gave it. 3. There are nude sculptures of Gods & Goddesses of Hindu religion, at many places in India. His ART friends have urged that at the age of 90, Hussain should be called back to his own country & all cases filed against him should be withdrawn. Let us see what future brings for M.F.HUSSAIN...

7. Thousand nine hundred and ninety dollar bills are worth one dollar more than one thousand nine hundred and eighty-nine dollar bills.

8. Only once, then you are subtracting it from 20.

9. "one word"

13. They were husband and wife.

14. He can't because he's dead.

15. And last, as I had expected nobody answered this correctly.... LOL. So answer is --- Take a pen & draw one more parallel but long line below it! Now see your original line is SMALL & second line is LONG / BIG ! LOLOLOL

I had seen this question in some Govt. job test of Ireland… long back! I had liked this so I still remember it. Plus there is one more reason --- This last answer is my favorite because I take this as a symbol of unhappiness or problems in my life and whenever I see this line, I try to draw the line of happiness more than this and then find myself that this line of unhappiness or problems is very small, which can be neglected easily… In this way, I wish, you too remember this line and always try to draw the bigger line (of happiness) than this in your life.... BUT REMEMBER ALWAYS my 3 favorite words too, "NEVER GIVE UP"!!!

Rest other 14 questions are taken from Internet itself, which I had found while surfing. I love to know & learn more about tricky questions… so net surfing helps me to do that…

My “Return Gift” is here --- you can have a glimpse of this 42 years (age) completed & 43 running, an old & mysterious woman....!! YES, Of course, pictures of me BY ME!!!Image

SORRY GUYS SHOW IS OVER!
YOU ARE LATE HERE!!!!!!!!!
NOTE : The above pictures are taken by me in the mirror of bedroom ! REAL & AN ORIGINAL PINK WITHOUT ANY MAKE UP ! ( Because I don't like to have any make up at home and even I don't use it while going out for shopping etc... Same about jewellery... But if you see shiny yellow spots on my face, specially on forehead...then it is reflection of glass door of our bedroom in the mirror due to which my pics are like this... though I had tried to avoid that reflection but I could not hide SUN... Image and if I put curtains then all darkness in room...and I would not have got the real pictures of me! So please bear those glass reflections!!! ) I HAVE CLICKED THESE PICS AFTER HAVING MY BREAKFAST & BEFORE HAVING BATH...IN SIMPLE NIGHT GOWN .... that's why these are pics of REAL & ORIGINAL PINK ....
